Maybe…maybe not. I’ve had more faith in my darkest hours than in my brightest moments. I think true faith shows itself most plainly in the dark before the dawn…

Faith under the light of day, or the dark of night…

Well, here’s a little bit of how I see this. In the daytime, under the full light of the sun we see things in their full earthly color, as they were intended to be. Now this offers a sense of security, but at the same time causes us to live in constraint. Putting it simply living a lifestyle that says, “My skin is red, I need to live as if my Skin is red” “I am a catholic, so church every Sunday is VERY SERIOUS”, you get the picture.

Now as the sun sets each day the color fades from our site. We can still things but the darker it gets the more things turn to gray. In a sense this is freeing, because my skin is no longer black, or white, or red. My church robs, which are so rightly colored and noticeable during the day become colorless at night, and no longer proclaim my status.
With those constraints lifted we have a new freedom to step beyond our normal boundaries. The problem I see here is that we have the choice of which way to go with this lack of boundaries. We can totally turn our back on faith, or we can face it head on. I have found that turning into it and diving in the experiences I have had are much, much deeper and have a far greater effect on my life.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think that’s why some people are so drawn to the night watch.
