Prayerstreaming – the Interceding Heart

Matthew 9:35-38 (New American Standard Bible)

Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. “Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”

We cannot interceed for others without compassion.

This is not a quality that is second nature. Human nature is a pretty demanding self-centered nature. And while we can be moved with compassion for a few people or for very brief moments, God asks us to broaden our field of vision and die to ourselves. We have to be trained to see the needs of others over our own needs.

McHenry writes it this way:
“When we are filled with the Spirit, we’ll have the compassion of Christ within us. We’ll then see the diseased, the harassed, and the helpless so that we can pray they’ll be healed by the Healer, comforted by the Comforter, and shepherded by the Shepherd.”

This was her second way to become an intercessor.

I never blog and I am sure that there are other areas of this website that I should be asking this question but I’m not sure how to navigate through it all. Anyway, I wanted to ask if anyone with in the Church has commented on the current Primaries/Election. I was feeling lost so tried to search the internet for answers on who each candidate really was and I have to say that I am concerned! I wasn’t sure where to turn for answers an I was curious how the Church feels about things being said specifically about Obama. Sorry if I am intruding onto the wrong Blog but I’m not sure where else to turn. thank you!

    To “Concerned” ,
I’ll respond as the lead pastor of Church at the Gate. Which candidate believes all life is sacred from conception to natural death? Vote for that candidate. If there are no LIFE candidates in the Democratic primary, review the candidates from the other parties. This issue of the sacredness of unborn human life is heavy on the heart of God. I will speak specifically to the issue of candidates in light of the Word of God on September 28. See this link…
