Midnight Cry

Benin?

February 22, 2008 · 2 Comments

As we were singing last Sunday the words of the song sparked a question in my mind.

Here’s the phrase that caught my attention:
“Ask and I’ll give the nations to you”
My immediate thought was Benin.

I knew it was a country in Africa, but beyond that I know nothing.

Anybody got any connections to Benin, know any missionaries there? I’d love to pray with understanding.

Ask and I’ll give the nations to you…

Benin changed names in 1975. Before that it was called Dahomey. From a quick Wiki study Dahomey appears to be a nation with an economy built on slave trade. Also, human sacrifice was hugely popular, at one time there were 4000 natives sacrificed to a king. There is exists a throne made of human skulls in Benin. Like much of Africa, there is blood on the land.

It’s also thought that Vodun, or Voodoo originated in Benin.

LOL, I think God asking for intercession on the behalf of Benin. I think he wants to us to put our spiritual backs into the work of pushing open heavenly gates in that country.

Thanks Jeremy. I’ve sat on this all week and not done anything and you have effortlessly identified four massive thrones of darkness. Oh, and one is actually a throne.
