Midnight Cry

New and Revised Ten Virgins Picture

God Bless Carter! Thanks to his technical know how, I am able to unveil the new Ten Virgins picture.

Thankfully the pig head is gone and the he was able to brighten up the dark lady in the background. We’ll just assume that her lamp is out. And yes, I know that Boba Fett is really some sort of two handled pottery being carried by one of the girls. Perhaps she is bringing the wine to the wedding.

There is some cool symbolism in what the girls are carrying.

Starting on the left the first girl carries lilys and palm branches. Lilys represent purity and the palms welcome the coming King.

The next girl carries a sheaf of wheat to represent the harvest and our first fruit/very best offering to the King.

The next two are my personal favorites. One carries the doves. Doves show singleness of purpose and devotion, because they have no peripheral vision…they can’t be distracted. The Holy Spirit took the form of a dove when he rested on Jesus.

Next is a girl carrying a harp and scrolls. The Word cannot be separated from our worship. Their connection is totally connected.

I think I see a bowl of fruit next as the fruit of the Holy Spirit accompany those who walk with Him.

After this point the gifts become more mysterious…perhaps the next is incense which would represent the prayers of the saints; closely followed by the wine of gladness.

Jesus, I want to bring you good gifts everyday. Help me to remember that you are daily worthy of nothing less than my best.

The purple flowers are a great replacement…Thanks Carter!!!

PS For those of you wanting an update…I heard the rooster yesterday morning. I had no idea what fried chicken sounded like – now I know!

Kristen, What about the last 3? Starting with the (now) grape lady to the end, did you notice how different their faces are? Purple flower lady has a weird smile, dark lady is just that, dark in countenance as well as color, and the last, while not paricularly different, she certainly doesn’t look ‘happy’ or contemplative as most of the others. Got any clues what that means? Maybe they are 3 of the 5 foolish virgins. That certainly would explain why the one was originally carrying a PIGS head to a Jewish wedding! (VERY foolish in my opinion) As for the other 2 foolish virgins, maybe we are not meant to know which ones they are. Maybe that is a message that you can LOOK the part of belonging, without actually belonging. A lesson to search your own heart, be on the alert so as not to be left behind! Anyway, the picture looks better now, and I LOVE how you tied in all the symbolism.
